Will be May 21st. Details forthcoming. For more info on WFC, please go here: http://walkforchoice.tumblr.com/post/4611552653/your-next-walk-for-choice-saturday-may-21st.
Just an update on the last post: I’ve been reassured by Stephanie Craddock Sherwood of Planned Parenthood of Central Ohio that she has not been discouraged by her employers from participating in the Walk for Choice. Ohio’s Planned Parenthood offices have of course been incredibly busy, and will continue to be so thanks to the Heartbeat Bill’s approval by a House panel yesterday. So the issue mentioned by Raven may in fact be an issue elsewhere, but it does not appear to be one in Ohio.

House approves Heartbeat Bill
What a unique perspective on activism!
There isn’t a Columbus Walk for Choice this weekend but we can still hold a small demonstration in front of the Statehouse. Not sure what the rules are about that, so if someone knows please please tell me. Right now the basic idea is to have a few people in front of the Statehouse for at least an hour in order to remind Wachtmann and crew that we haven’t forgotten about them and are still active.
It might be worthwhile to create a Facebook event for this so that people can RSVP. If you’re interested please let me know in a reply!

A few pictures from Planned Parenthood’s Day of Action in DC. Taken by Sarah Jones.
I’ve confirmed with several organizers—both from February and March—that Planned Parenthood is actively discouraging its employees and volunteers from attending Walk for Choice.
I’m sure there are many reasons why (the egos of their action coordinators being one), but across the country they were put off because, yes, we use the word abortion.
What you do with this information is, hah, your choice, but I just thought you all should know.
Can anyone comment on this? Because I don’t know if this is true (if it is it’s disturbing) and if so, is it a nation-wide trend or simply limited to a regional office’s policy?

$15 for a bus seat, which includes some meals. The itinerary is available at the link, buses are available in Columbus and Cleveland, though I believe the details for the Columbus bus are still being worked out. If somebody’s got those feel free to post!
So why is Columbus not on this list? And what can we do to make this happen?
